Obligatory New Year Post

Hey Frilly Folks!

Although I barely post due to work and lack of interesting topics to talk about, I am very thankful for those who stuck around patiently, and glad that I haven't made any promises to make frequent posts  (I hate letting others down). In spite of the lack of posts, I've actually been wearing lolita quite often with the influx of local meets and the local con due to people being off for winter break, however, I've failed to get pictures of my coordinates; I am going to have to change that this year! I'll post re-creations of coords from past meetups another time. In the mean time, I'll share with you some obligatory lolita fashion related goals for 2016:

1) Take more photos of my coords
This is honestly really hard for me since I'm not really photogenic nor do I have a good camera to work with, but also because I usually host meets in my area, so I'm typically too busy making sure that meets run smoothly to make time for it. I've been a lolita for a long time (almost 10 years!) and I think it's high time that I document my style while I can.

2) Less cheap impulse buys and more dream dresses
I've been pretty good at winning J-auctions, but that meant that I had accumulated a few cheap dresses just because they were cheap. I'm glad that they go with the color schemes in my wardrobe, but at the same time, I feel like I ought to make more effort into hunting for dresses to kick off of my wish list (BTW: does anyone have Meta's pintuck jsk in navy, black, and/or red? How about AP's Cafe Latte in brown or black?).

3) New petticoat and shoes
4) More daring coordinates
After hiatuses and selling off my wardrobe countless of times, I've finally gotten where I want to be when it comes to my lolita wardrobe, but I haven't made much effort into keeping up with trends and expanding my style. Part of it has to do with being scared to try the more ott styles, but a big part of it is my penchant for old-school lolita looks - the looks that I had fallen in love with when I discovered the fashion. Old-school looks will always have a place in my heart, however, I think it's high time that I experiment.

5) Go to a brand hosted event
I've been pretty stingy about going to one after reading many poor reviews. I still think that spending $50 on a ticket seems unreasonable for a few sandwiches and bagged tea at an anime convention, but I think it's about time I knock that one off of the lolita level up list.

I'm usually bad at new year resolutions and I hope that keeping it small will help me complete all of them. What are you lolita related goals?  Hosting more meets? Changing up your style? Support indie brands more? Feel free to share them in the comment section.

Good luck!
-Lily

Lace a la Mode is doing a 365 Lolita Lifestyle Challenge. Considering how late I am in the game, I don't think I'll follow through for all 365 days, but I will do my best to participate and write on my experience with these suggestions.
